Empowering artists with the tools to take back the reigns of their career

Does this sound familiar?
You're a serial class-taker, overwhelmed by the heaps of (often conflicting) feedback you've gotten from CDs, teachers and directors alike. You agonize for hours choosing rep because you want to make the "smart" (read: correct) song choice for every audition. You've spent so long focused on others' perception that your internal compass couldn't find your True North if it tried.

Never fear -- I created a community for that!
In this 8-week group coaching program, you’ll get clear on your unique strengths and artistic POV so you can marry your craft & creative process to your career strategy cohesively (and start making a name for yourself  in the industry -- not who you think you need to be.)

CCL is a home for actors who want to feel solid in who they are & what they bring, and flexible as hell in how they bring it ✨ Because you deserve a process as unique as you.

that's why i created courageous creatives lab.

+ Firm Believer that Life is Just One Big Experiment.

Some other things I believe: curiosity & connection are the antidote to all creative ailments, controlling what we can while releasing the rest is the only way to stay sane in this biz, and pineapple does belong on pizza (let me live, okay?!)

Courageous Creatives Lab is a love letter to the brilliant creatives & performers I know in NYC and all the ones I don’t (yet). When I moved to the city, I craved a class with a holistic approach to acting coaching that would go deep on process (rather than just sprucing up the product 👀), provide accountability, and encourage risk-taking -- so I created one.

Ever read a self-help book or a text about creativity and are left like "okay...now what?" SAME.  Cohorts select self-development books of interest to read and discuss: how can we actually  apply these concepts to better our selves + our work?

Then we get down to the nitty-gritty! Performers can bring in any material of interest for work sessions. Feedback sessions are focused on strengthening the skill of "take what resonates & leave the rest." Then we experiment w/ exercises to explore the piece in a new way. Actors videotape work sessions (for *science*, not self-judgement).

Action + accountability is a magical combo, baby! After an initial goal-setting discussion in the first week where we ID pain points, every week cohorts share wins & troubleshoot roadblocks. Additional support from me + ongoing community-building (and book discussion) is available in a group Discord channel.

Got a Q? I've got an A.

Actors who want support for their craft and career in one place. Folks who want to change their relationship to failure (& "perfection") to fail faster to get to the good stuff. Those who want to own their role in the industry from a place of purpose & leadership.

Probably not for: advocates of "it's just a number's game" and "more is more", fans of one-size-fits-all solutions, and those content to do what others are doing, following conventional wisdom without questioning if it works for them.

Our 8 week session is priced at $600. The standard payment plan* is a $200 deposit to secure your spot and two more installments of $200 (billed on the 1st and 5th week) unless you choose to pay the full amount.
*feel free to inquire about an individual payment plan if this poses a significant issue & we can work something out :)

If you're interested in taking Lab for HALF PRICE, inquire about Split Tracking: Sign up with a buddy & you'll each have 4 work sessions (instead of 8) throughout the month, but can still attend every class as an observer + have full access to our Discord server. (This is a great option if you aren't available for every date of class!)

As actors, we bring our whole selves to work every day. Reading & exploring new ideas about creativity and/or how to better show up in the world permeates our whole being, and therefore our performances. We dedicate much of our discussion to thinking creatively about how to apply reading concepts to the *craft* of acting. i.e. What might "Steal Like an Artist" or "Daring Greatly" look like in our work sessions? In an audition? In a production?
It's an exploration, and always a fruitful one!

Unlike many great resources for actor training in NYC, Lab isn't about teaching you one modality through which to approach your work. It's more about providing a (aptly named) playbook of methods for exploring what your  creative process can look like.
In fact, I actively don't use the word "teach" -- my role isn't to train you in a specific repeatable skill*. As a facilitative coach, I'm there to help you unlock what you're already capable of and give you a chance to repeatedly take creative risks to stretch yourself & strengthen those courage muscles ❤️

*If you are, however, looking for training in a specific area (pop/rock, scene study, Meisner, callback technique, acting for the camera, etc.) I have some great recs I can direct you to!

Yep! Look, I won't (and can't) force you to go back and actually watch it, but I want you to have the option! I know watching yourself perform can be an emotionally fraught experience, but it shouldn't be. Like professional athletes, actors need to train to objectively see what it is we're actually doing  while performing to better make adjustments and take our ego out of the equation. This is easier said than done, but practicing viewing back your work sessions with curiosity & a scientific mindset accelerates growth.
(Check out The Impact Cycle or numerous other books on effective coaching if you don't believe me!)

Find your process.
Find your people.
Find your POV.

A life in this biz is long, baby. Give yourself the gift of cultivating the holistic mindset you need to create your  dream career, not somebody else's. Practice taking messy action and exploring the findings of your experiments alongside a community of creatives who champion one another (because we celebrate our individuality knowing there are more than enough seats at the table --  and if there aren't, we'll build a new table!)

You are far from cookie-cutter. So start acting like it 😉
