I direct because I'm obsessed with exploring the hilarity and heartbreak of being human. I see the world as a kaleidoscope of complexity, and that ever-shifting perspective lives at the heart of my directorial style. I love playing with the new, the experimental, the form-and-boundary-pushing, while maintaining a human core & the connection to audience that I believe makes live theatre a magical art form.
As someone who's been on both sides of the table, I emphasize the importance of ensemble collaboration and create environments where everyone's creative voice is heard and valued -- because we create better together.

The Mad Ones
‘Caleb & Rita’ by Jessica Moss was selected by Kat to direct for S.P.O.T.’s 2022 Summer festival of new works, What Makes Me Tick. A hilarious and touchingly human bite-sized play about dating in the age of swiping, Moss’s characters are witty, neurotic, and cut to the core.
Better Judgement
‘Better Judgement’, a new play by Rosie Tyler, was presented at The Tank. Show synopsis: “Better Judgement is a psychological rom-com to make you doubt every movie couple you’ve ever rooted for. This is not a love story. This is a battle between good and evil; a social commentary rooted in comedy and magical realism.”
Borne of the pandemic, Kait Kerrigan and Bree Lowdermilk offered free licensing for segments from The Mad Ones, alongside a multi-week interactive experience for participating artists. The completed pieces are showcased in The Mad Ones Engine, a roulette-style video hosting software.
